Mass loaded vinyl soundproofing works on a fundamental acoustic principle: adding mass to a wall, ceiling, or floor reduces the amplitude of sound waves that pass through it. BlastBlock takes this further through acoustic optimization — our proprietary compound formulation is specifically engineered to maximize sound blocking performance at the frequencies that matter most: human speech (250Hz–4kHz), music, and HVAC noise. Independent ASTM E90 laboratory testing consistently confirms BlastBlock outperforms conventional mass loaded vinyl by 15 to 25 percent at the same material weight and thickness.

Fire-rated MLV fire tested to AS/NZS 1530.3 and ASTM fire standards. STC 32 dB acoustic performance. ASTM test reports available on request. Required for commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, and schools where fire code compliance is mandatory alongside acoustic performance.

BB830LF — Low Frequency Heavy-Duty MLV | Rw 32 dB

Heavy-duty acoustic MLV specifically engineered for low frequency sound insulation. 5mm thickness, 10 kg/m² — double the mass of BB830. Blocks bass, subwoofer noise, industrial machinery vibration, and diesel generator rumble that standard MLV cannot effectively contain.

BB460 — Dual Sound & Vibration Dampening Material

Dual-function acoustic material with innovative honeycomb aluminum construction. Combines sound blocking with structure-borne vibration dampening — the combination needed for automotive, marine vessel, and HVAC applications where panel resonance and vibration are the primary noise sources.

Acoustic Installation System — BA650, BA890, BA990

BA650 Putty Pads seal electrical penetrations (STC 62+, ASTM C919 & E90). BA890 BlastSealant permanently seals all perimeter gaps and joints that would otherwise defeat the acoustic barrier. BA990 BlastAdhesive bonds MLV to any substrate — concrete, steel, wood, gypsum, plastic — with a permanently flexible waterproof bond.
